DC Show 10/12/09

I went to the DC concert last night, front row on the side, and next to an elderly women from India and her son. I guessed the son to be about my age, 40ish, so I was surprised he brought his mother. She asked me if was with the people sitting next to me. When I said no, "I came alone," she replied, "well now you are with us, so you're not alone anymore." After the concert started I thought Tommy was looking over at me and giving me the thumbs up, but quickly realized he was enjoying the elderly fan next to me, who was rocking out in her own unique way and standing up through most of the concert in her traditional outfit (I think Paul picked her out as well). Tommy threw out a pick, which landed at my feet. I gave it to the lady, since I'm sure it was intended for her and she was really happy. I thought it was strange since 30 years earlier, or so, Ace Freely had flung out a pick to my brother during Solid Gold (remember this show?). He brought it home from California and gave it to me. It was my lucky charm for some time and somehow I lost it. So here was the modern incarnation of that make up flinging another to me 30 years later (my first KISS concert by the way), and I gave it away. But fate would not be denied and a pick from the spaceman found it's way to me again. The elderly lady somehow got another one near the end of the show and gave it to me. One good turn begets another, I suppose. What a ton of fun. Great band, great crowd, great seatmates who adopted me for the concert. Glad I went "alone" and didn't miss these rock gods yet again.

All I can say is WOW! I'm still speechless in awe of what I witnessed being performed by my all-time favorite rock & roll band. It was truly the most entertaining 2 1/2 hour blitz I've seen. If you are a KISS fan, and you haven't seen them LIVE- get your ass to one their shows. You won't regret it. I'm glad that my brother, who is a fan of the band since 1976, finally got to see them perform. Thank you Gene, Paul, Tommy & Eric for giving us a concert that will forever be etched in my memory.

Went to the Philly show on 10/12 and I have to say that this is, with no doubt, the best the band has ever sounded. This was my 44th concert of yours' that I have been to, with my first being on the Dynasty tour. The new stage and costumes were fantastic. Sonic Boom, what else can you say except that this cd has BALLS!!! Hope you guys make a second trip to Philly this year so that I can get to my 45th show.

This is my 4 year old daughter, Lorelai, in her Halloween costume that she has had picked out since April. She tells everyone she sees that she is going to be “KISS star” for Halloween. Anytime we go to the toy section at a store, she spots the KISS toys before her favorite princess toys and even told us she wants only KISS & Harley stuff for Christmas this year. I have been blown away by your shows 3 times already and was looking forward to taking my daughter to her first concert ever to see you guys in Las Vegas on Nov 28th this year. However, that is the first day of training for my next deployment. We had to miss your 2008 show here due to a deployment as well. So keep on rockin and we hope to see you in the future. The Shafer's

My 8 year old daughter loves the song All for the Glory. It is also one of my favorites. She pulled out all my Kiss albums and I had a hard time explaining how you went from blonde on the Revenge cover to covered in makup and dark haired for the Cat. She wants to be the Catman for halloween and my wife says over her dead body. I'm gonna miss her, just kidding. I have totally gotten her into Kiss to. She took the Klassics cd to work and spread the Kiss gospel to all non believers. Thanks for being who you are and hope to see you on the road. Thx Mike

Its always nice to see someone so positive in this world of negativity. Please keep up the good work and I hope I have the opportunity to see you just one more time.

KISS Congradulations on Sonic Boom being #2!!. Your highest album chart ever. I can not help to think it would have been # 1 if not only sold at Walmart. But way to go some things do get better with age, I was fortunate enough to see KISS for the 18th time at Cobo Hall in Detroit Rock City and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen KISS perform. I have to go with my first show as the best Dec. 16 1979 Toledo Sports Arena Dynasty tour I was 11 you can not beat that but after that I would have a hard time deciding that KISS 2009 was not the next best show!! Great CD! loved hearing it all weekend on ABC college football and Monday all over ESPN Sports Center too. Can not wait to see show 19 when you come around Toledo/Detroit again.

Kiss, I finally got a chance to meet my rock and roll Idols in Philly Oct 12th. It was really cool shaking hands with the guys, but the really neat part was meeting people from all over the World who also came to the show to meet the band. We exchanged greetings and stories about what the band means to each of us. By the time the show started we were like a little Kiss family. Most of us were in the first few rows and conversed before, during, and after the show. Once the show was done were said our farewells and parted company, but I will never forget the folks I met, and meeting the band, how could I ever forget that. I was front row center stage for the event, WOW! What a show! Thanks guys for the great show and the awesome memories. Sam Mavilla-New Jersey

I just wanted to say Sonic Boom is absolutely fantastic. It sounds just as it was described Rock & Roll Over meets Destroyer. Sonic Boom may be the best CD yet. This is a must have for any KISS fan.
